New GE Gas Water Heater Installation
Our plumbers disconnected, removed, and properly disposed of the existing tank before preparing the water and gas connections for the new GE unit.
The complete 40-gallon water heater installation included:
- Removal and disposal of the existing water heater
- Installation of a new 40-gallon GE gas water heater
- New thermal expansion tank and hammer arrestor
- New water shutoff valve
- Reconnection of hot and cold water piping
- Reconnection and testing of the natural-gas supply
- Filling and pressurizing the new tank
- Water-leak, gas-leak, burner, and operational testing
- Final confirmation that the system was producing hot water
At normal city-water pressure, our technicians inspected the new water connections and confirmed there was no meter movement indicating an active plumbing leak. They tested the natural-gas connections with approved leak-detection solution, found no gas leaks, then lit the heater and verified burner operation and hot-water production.
Repair or Replace a Gas Water Heater in Yukon?
No hot water does not always mean the tank needs replacement. A failed gas control, pilot assembly, thermostat, burner component, heating element, or electrical issue can also stop hot-water production. TradeStrong diagnoses the problem before recommending repair or replacement.
Common warning signs include no hot water, hot water running out quickly, leaks around the tank, rust or corrosion, unusual popping or rumbling, discolored hot water, pilot or burner trouble, or an older tank needing frequent repairs.
A properly selected expansion tank gives heated water room to expand in a closed plumbing system, helping control pressure changes. A hammer arrestor absorbs sudden pressure changes from fast-closing fixtures or appliances. These components helped make this Yukon replacement a more complete installation.
